A Live Virtual Workshop

July 28, 2021 1:00 – 2:00 PM EDT

TIP Workshop: Building a Threat Library

Analysts receive threat data in many different formats and levels of quality. Aggregating it all is difficult enough, let alone making sense of it. This includes performing quality control – data deduplication and normalization – and preparing it for dissemination and operationalization by various teams and technologies.

Getting information into a centralized system of record is the first step and requires technology that’s flexible enough to support collecting intelligence no matter where you’re working from.

By the end of this session, you’ll be equipped with flexible ways your security team members can ingest information and they will be able to:

  • Significantly reduce the time it takes to get high-quality intel into operations.
  • Curate and develop a single source of truth (or system of record) for aggregating and normalizing threat intelligence
  • Understand threat data at a deeper level than otherwise provided by the originating intel source with analytics, crowdsourced data, and machine learning
  • Have a trusted intelligence repository to reference when the additional context is necessary

Speakers

Megan Horner
Director of Product Marketing, ThreatConnect

Megan has over 10 years experience in the cybersecurity industry, working in leadership roles across product, sales, and marketing. She started her career in the cyber security training space, and moved to Blackfin security, a company providing cyber simulation environments for both government and commercial organizations. After an acquisition by Symantec, Megan spent time there leading product marketing for the emerging growth team – supporting offerings that were new to Symantec and new to the market. Since then, she’s worked at numerous start-ups in roles supporting various areas of the go-to-market team.

Now, at ThreatConnect, Megan runs the product marketing team and works to ensure that ThreatConnect is providing real solutions to our customer’s problems. Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending time with her family – including their bulldog mixes, Ollie & Otis.
